It's quite an experience to work alongside experienced farmers, helping them plant their pumpkins, gourds and squash. Observing their time-tested methods and seeing the result of that workflow was interesting and good.
But now we're the ones doing the planting for the very first time! It feels good to get those seeds in the ground, but now we're the ones looking at the sky, watching the weather reports, and praying for just the right temperatures, moisture, lack of bugs and all those other things farmers do. It's strange, but good to be developing our own workflow now while leaning heavily on all that experience from friends.
Well, here's hoping there's a field full of pumpkins for you to enjoy this Fall!
